Bar Options For Stock 5thgen Forks

Wondering what my options are for replacing a bent left clip on bar on my 98/5thGen.  I have stock forks, with no plan to swap the front end out.  I would prefer the close to stock as far as reach/rise, as I found the stock position a good compromise between sport and comfort..  Obviously, a stock replacement is ideal, but before I run up $140 for OEM, I figured I'd check here to see what other options people have found worked.  If I remember right, the stock fork upper is 41mm?  Anyone used generic clip ons for that diameter, had good luck with mounting all the bits, clearing the fairings, etc?

Do tell.  I am hoping to get my ride back A.S.A.P., every day without it is just a bit depressing.

Any vfr bar from 90-01 is 41mm.   VTR1000f bars (superhawk) are also 41mm but lower.

Theres always the Heli bar....and at the IMS down in Greenville I saw these folks www.swattmotorcycle.com they got risers of differing heights from 1 1/2 tp 3 1/2 inches... check the addy and for the Heli search that one....or flea bay....

As FM said, many options for a 41mm tube. :fing02:

Want to go lower = VTR1000 clipons
Want to go higher = Hawk GT 647 clipons.
You can find both for reasonable prices at eBay.
Just note that you will have to fiddle around with the brake lines and cables if you go either way so they do not pinch or bind. You'll be surprised how little altitude change with the bars going up or down can screw things up.
