Tire Changing

I have the harbor freight tire changer.Rather than making the rim clamps, has anyone used the No-Mar's rim clamp spools and if so, which ones (13/16 or 11/16)?If I buy the No-Mar mount/demount tool,will I need the spoon bar, extra hand, yellow thing, or anything else to change the tires?

On the Valkyrie Rider's forum,many are sold on dynabeads rather than weights and tire balancing.Any one on this forum have any experience with dynabeads?

I know a few guys using those Dyna-Beads and swear by them in any bike from choppers to sport bikes.

I also know some others who are very reluctant to try them.

Give 'em a shot and see how it goes. :cool:

I have the No mar changer and love it. I'm not real familiar with the harbor freight set up, but does it have the bar that drop over the top like the nomar? if it does, you can get away with just the nomar mount/demount bar...no spoons needed. if You don't have the overhead bar, just go out and get a steel rod, maybe 3/4 inch diameter and drop it through the center of the wheel...it's what the nomar bar needs to become a lever.

It sure does make life a lot easier!!

Also, I use a static balancer....never tried beeds.

I love my NoMar setup.
My garage is currently a dump, but the NoMar is safely in an open space.

The "spools" on the bar work, so if you get it you don't need spoons (unless this is a gold wing we are talking about).

I got the end of model year clearance from NoMar and it came with extra hands clamps, balancer, bar,,,, everything you need in one shot.

I won't be getting ripped off by the local shops anymore.

My buddy has a No Mar, I think I`ve gotten more use from it than he has.

He got all the No Mar spoons, the yellow thing, the rim clamp spools, etc. We have used any and all depending on the tire. Changed out old Dunlop 208`s for Bridgestone BT016`s, the 208`s came right off without issue, ended up using the yellow thing, several spoons on the Bridgestone rear. He uses the spool clamps for wire spoked wheels(dirtbikes, etc)Just depends on the tire.
