Fuel Injectors

Hi guys.

I am after some fuel injectors for a 2006 model off ebay, and may be able to get a set off a 2004 model instead (buying other bits from the same guy). I thought these parts would be the same, however the Honda part numbers for the injector assembly is different. The seals are the same part numbers, but the injector is not. Seems a bit weird to me.

Does anyone know if Honda changed the injectors between models?

Cheers,
Shayne

Yes, they changed the injectors. I don't remember the exact change, something about the number of holes in the end or summat, but they did change them.

Yeah, you are right. They changed them to a 12 hole injector in 2002.

But what I want to know is did they change the injectors at any time after that. From 2002 onwards they are all 12 hole injectors, but they have different part numbers between 2005 and 2006. It is possible they have changed fron Keihin to Denso etc, and I wanted to know if anyone knew for sure.

Anybody know?

I remember when they brought out the 06 model with a few changes eg different vtec engagement point that the new injectors were one of the changes.

I thought that was when they went to the 12 hole ones.

What part of the part number changed? Sometimes, if just supplier, just the last one or two digits is changed.

Ciao,

Some of the part numbers are the same, such as all the seals, but the injector itself is different, not just the suffix etc. Different price too!

So I have done some surfing and found an article on the 2006 model that lists the changes to the engine. It notes that along with the change to the VTEC system, that Honda changed the injectors and ECU as well.

So the question has been answered. Thanks to everyone for their input.

I think they went to 16 hole. Why do you need injectors? 1 in a million fail on a honda.
