I am a huge Dunlop fan. I've been running Dunlops since day one. Now that i have been getting more and more into long distance trips i"ve been looking for a longer lasting tire. When Dunlop announced there new Q2 dual compound tire i got real happy. I talked to a couple Dunlop reps and they said that they have a different profile designed to put more rubber on the ground at greater lean angles and they have a new dual compound so they should last quite a bit longer than the Qualifiers.  From the magazine reviews there supposed to blow he mirrors of the qualifiers. just wondering if anybody has tried them and how they work. i dont think they have been out long enough for anybody to kill a set yet but i was wondering how the traction and feel is.

I sure hope the Q2 is a better tire than the Qualifier, because like most Dunlops They Suck!

I never have liked Dunlops and the set of Qualifiers I ran were awful(for my use), so bad that I tosses the front in the trash after only 1600 miles. The rear was OK.

Now Dunlop makes some great DOT Race rubber that grips excellent and outwears most every other DOT race tire out there, but for some reason their unable to apply that tech to their street tires?

I've also been a long-time Dunlop fan.  Unlike BR, I've had great success with the Qualifiers on both the street and track.  Never once had any issues with adhesion, wear, etc.  Just like my Hondas, they have never let me down.

The Q2's are intended for supersport type riding.  I'm not sure they would be that great for touring or even general street use.  While they are promoted as dual compound for longer wear, they still will probably wear faster down the center than some other choices.  For really aggressive riders or trackday use I'm sure they would be the bees knees.
