I am a 6th gen RWB owner

Well, in a week or two, our garage is going to be home to another VFR. Dad and I bought a RWB. It was a local salvage. No official pics yet, but it looks to be in pretty good condition for a salvage. Some minor scrapes in the fairing and the right mirror is broken off, but everything else looks good. I tried telling my dad that if he really liked the undertail exhaust we could just put it on the 4th gen, but he didn't like that idea. So we now have three generations of VFR in our garage, but it's going to be short lived. We've decided to sell the 4th gen, but it's not for sale just yet. Want to do get it into better shape before I let it go. So wish us luck on the RWB being in the condition it was shown.

The sixth gen is a great bike. You'll love it.

+1 Having bought two salvaged 6gens. It's not the front but the back especially the fan area. Same for a 5gen too. Besides the plastics, if there was a scratch or nick on the frame or swingarm: DING! Instant total.

Dad thinks the rear wheel is damaged, but I think he's just imagining things. They took the pictures down, and I didn't save them, so I can't look back and check, but I didn't notice anything the first time looking. Thanks for the tips. When we get the bike (delivery in a week or two), I'll post the pics up. Hopefully won't be much of a project.

Better practice up on that MT50 (now you know what it is) before trying out such a powerful machine as a RWB 6th gen, lol :laugh:

Dad finally went down and picked up a wrecked RWB we bought a couple weeks ago from an insurance company. No pics yet ( I know the rule). Right now it's sitting in the very back of the garage, with the black cover on, with the bigger ST in front hiding it, cause the wife doesn't know about it yet :unsure: :ph34r:

This is all I know about it so far. 07 ABS, salvage, No damage to the front minus a dent in the tank, paint job in mint condition, no broken plastics, rear wheel damaged on right side, subframe bent either down or towards the right (couldn't understand my dad). So it shouldn't be a terrible project. If only I could get a job in cleveland so I could work on these projects.

So I finally got home after a crazy trip driving around. Isn't as good condition as I was hoping, but still not terrible. So here she is.

As you can see, she's not terribly banged up. Once we got a good battery in, the bike started right up with no problems. The front has almost no damage to it. There are a few nicks here and there in the plastic, but nothing noticeable. The tank is dinged up and we'll probably get a replacement tank sometime after we fix the rest of it. The subframe is a bit tweaked. The rear lights are mint, but the right side plastic has a crack in it. Not sure about the exhaust, but it looks slightly bent. Obviously the rear wheel is toast. Were supposed to receive most of the replacement parts, but guess they were too busy bringing seb presents today (11/25). ABS light is on, but it's probably just a connector somewhere.

The rest of the garage isn't actually as bad as I thought. 4th gen needs the one rotor replaced (got it), steering head bearings changed, and the plastic fixed up and it'll be as close to 100% as I can get it.

5th gen needs steering head bearings and it's finished. Finished putting the front end of the bug together and replaced the torn boot on the one shaft. Have an issue with the front lights not fitting just right, but they work. Just need an inspection and we get a clear title.

Finished fixing the coolant leak on the 01 ST, so it just needs inspection to get rid of salvage title.

93 ST needs the new front end put on (have all parts), and need to get rid of that silly paintjob.

White GT's timing belt problem was solved and is now running. Man it's good to be driving stick again. Decided to just sell the green GT with the shot oil pump.

Man, that RWB appears to have been slammed hard from the rear and tossed on the right side. I would not have wanted to be the one sitting on it when that happened.

The ST looks like it was owned by a Gold Winger wanna be with that paint job. They always seem to have some ocean scene or wolves or some 70's hippie van eagle artwork on them. I guess it kind of goes with the baseball hat and tennis shoes I always seem to see piloting the Wings. Ah, but paint work is about the easiest fix a guy can pull off. Both will be nice once they get patched up.

CONGRATS Yoshi...ah, to be young enough to want a Garage full of projects like Those again....I remember the days well.... :biggrin: :fing02: ....ENJOY em', I've gotten to the point I prefer to be out ridin', wrenchin' just isn't as much fun for me anymore...keep the Pics comin' Buddy... :fing02: :beer:

Sure, just let me check if I can get my engine hoist across the border :biggrin: . Actually just spend most of yesterday pulling an engine out of an old S-10 for his Caterham, so I'm all warmed up for the job.

I'm trying to get rid of projects! Or at least finish them. Well, I COULD use an enduro :goofy: .

Except most of our projects run ;p . We're not getting a swingarm yet, but a new wheel and tail and that is, if it ever decides to get here. Stuff shipped the 16th out of NY and won't come in until sometime next week :pissed: . At least it's a nice day to take the 4th and 5th gen out.

Congrats, easy fix. Rear hits are great as 95% of everything else is a front hit! Looks like it was rear ended! :unsure:

The SSSA are pretty stout but do/can bend. I road my 2000 for 10k miles w/a bent swing arm, it was aout 1 1/2 deg off center. Couldn't really notice it riding. Worth checking it though, hopefully you won't need one.

The ABS light is probably only on because it's not moving. Once you get it rolling, it should turn off at about three miles an hour. It always comes on until you start moving to let you know it's working.

Oh, and if you need any parts, my '02 has plenty of stuff from the rear in great shape, including the rear cowl, etc! I've got a rear wheel, but it's black.

Here's a quick status update. We have a new subframe and rear wheel. Wheel is absolutely perfect. Thankfully, my dad saw the light and agreed to powdercoat the wheels blue. The subframe, not so good. He forgot to check to see if it came off an ABS bike or not. So we have a non-ABS subframe. Not a huge deal ATM. Just hope there aren't any critical ABS bolt points we can't work around. But we have to get the subframe off the bike first before getting the new one on. Of course, it's being stubborn and doesn't want to come off. My dad is adamant about just cutting it off. Either way, I won't see the garage for a few weeks, so we'll see what he gets done in my absense.

Yoshi your dad is cool as hell. I have mint condition pipes if you need them, just say the word. I love the RWB, it will look great!!

No matter how much I complain about him, he is awesome. Just wish he would remember to let me screen his ebay purchases.

As far as the bike, I'm just worried about all the stuff that's on the subframe. Definitely seems like a lot more stuff jammed on there than the 4th gen.

You really didn't need to buy another rear wheel. A little JB Weld and that old one would have been as good as new :laugh:

Good luck completing that project and don't forget the most essential part of any bike rebuild, a cooler full of cold beer.
