Good day!
Conflicting info from Board members [not necessarily here], VFR owners, CA DMV...*sigh*
Those of us [un]fortunate enough to live in California has a particular burden - the most restrictive smog laws in the country. How strict? Tougher than the other 49 states and the federal govt. So tough the industry had to come up with a new smog category - smog legal in all 50 States [50-State smoggable].
So. I'm pretty sure that some fuel-injected motorcycles are 50-State smoggable. My Honda ST1300 was. I think that 6th-Gen VFRs are 50-state smoggable.
But, some folks disagree.
So. Absent a photo of a 6th-Gen smog cert indicating that it meets or exceeds emissions laws in all 50 States [I think it's under the seat?], this debate can't be put to bed.
Can anyone help? Please? It will help those of us [un]fortunate enough to live in CA but want to buy cheaper out-of-State bikes with less than 7,500 miles on them. [Don't get me started on CARB/CA DMV...]
Thanks!
