A bike seems to be the perfect means of transportation in Hong Kong. Are you allowed to laneshare of filter to the front at traffic lights?

Hey there, thanks, my pleasure to bring other parts of the world to you guys :)
I don't think there is any written rule against it in the motorist laws here and I see cops, both on foot and on motorcycles, just sit and watch people filter (though things like passing between two cars while they're moving is frowned upon and will get ticketed I think). A lot of things in HK are "legal" until you cause an accident or someone complains just like everywhere I guess!
I can't really enjoy that as I got 2 big Givi side cases (I think I own one of the fattest bikes in town :laugh: ). If I really depend on my bike for speed of commute and filter, I'd probably get a KTM Duke or a Hypermotard, or any narrow supermoto would be nice! I don't see many VFRs in HK though, most RVF400s, once I rode with a guy who had a 5th gen but that was about it. Some of the cops here in HK ride 5th gens as well.
Hypermotards have pretty wide handle bars don't they? Still it would be fun filtering through heavy city traffic.

Are those the same as seen in many
youtube clips of the Japanes moto cops? I heard the Brittish police is testing a police version of the 7th gen. VFR, maybe HK police will make the switch to in the nearby future.
