Confirmation of Canadian availability of bike and accessories

So far my dealer says he can�t yet give me an expected delivery date, much less a serial number. He also doesn�t have a clue about the availability or pricing of the accessories (bags, centerstand, etc.).

I presume other Canadians are in the same boat.

Therefore, as mentioned in another thread, for those of us who have put down money on the 1200FA, it would certainly be useful that it be posted here when our dealer confirms anything about delivery date and/or accessories.

I keep an eye on the Honda Canada website (http://www.honda.ca/...del=VFR1200FA10 ) but it says little or nothing, and dealers usually get information before it gets posted here anyway.

As for myself, I may be able to extract some information out of Honda and/or my dealer soon, as the Qu�bec and Montr�al bike shows are happening this month.

Same story here. My salesman will let me know as soon as he knows.

I went to the Qu�bec (City) motorcycle show on the weekend and saw the 1200FA in person.

It was on a rotating podium, so it took some time to convince the Honda Canada reps to let me sit on it to get a feel for the riding position which seems OK when you�re standing still, and only miles (kilometers) will tell if it�s comfortable on the road.

According to the Honda Canada guys, the bike shall be in showrooms by the end of March and the accessories shall be available at the same time. We will, according to them, be able to drive off from the dealers with the bags by late March. Of course, there is still still no pricing on the accessories.

They also mentioned that the DCT version shall be available later at a $3K premium.

The Montr�al show is at the end of February, and further information may be available then.

Careful about any information you get from those guys... if they're the same guys who were at the Calgary show, a few of them are completely full of shit.

One of them (and he was a Honda Canada guy, not a local salesman) tried to tell me that the VFR had 178hp at the wheel and that the rear 2 cylinders were of a smaller displacement than the front 2.

I've been really agonizing over whether or not to opt for the DCT... if it's really 3 grand then my decision is much easier.

Agreed, everything from them must be taken with a grain (spoonfull ?) of salt including what they told me about the cost of the DCT.
