Either way I will be running these @ Tallly this weekend and will let you know my thoughts. Unfortunately since there gonna get trashed for 2 days @ the track on the VFR we can only guess what the real world street mileage will be..

The dancing melon slices tell me the pure is a better tire, It sure looked pricey as well.
I am sure being Michelins latest it is great, it looks like the old pp prices are dropping so I will stay with those.
Go with the pures if you have the cashola $$$ imo, but dancing melon slices, pics of angels, and #s for lean angles are not gonna make me pay double.

I got mine from a dealer in Knoxville for $253 shipped per set so you may be able to find them cheaper online.

I mounted a set of power pure 2ct's and the front tire weighed in a 4 ozs. less than the PP2ct....i forgot to do the rear comparison.

I actually bought them for trackdays. I had been running the Pirelli Diablo streets and needed a better tire..
I dont ride that hard on the street so I have Pilot powers for that. There are just too many "If's" on the street that could reallly hurt you..

Interesting :blink: 1.5 pounds and 4 ounces are a big difference. I used my certified us postal scale....only good to 10 pounds...I wonder what that guy used?

From what I read elsewhere, the two pounds is for both of the tires as a set, not each individual tire.

I got mine here in Mooresville,NC from Hard Racing for $241.36 out the door. You might find them cheaper on line as he said. :)

These will Not compare at all to the Road 2's as they are ST tires, the Pilot Pure's are more Race/Track oriented that fit between PP 2ct's and Race rubber. Don't expect the mileage will be much, if they last as long as PP's I would be surprised. :unsure:

You simply cannot compare these two as far as mileage. You will always get significantly better mileage with the Road 2's as they are a sport touring tire. One interesting side note, based on a conversation with a couple guys that work for Michelin, the Road 2's have significantly better wet grip than the PP 2CT's while the PP 2's get significantly better dry grip. The biggest advantage with the Power Pure vs. std Power 2CT for street riders is the wider section of soft rubber on the sides allowing the rider to reach maximum grip earlier during corner entry and maintain maximum grip longer while exiting the corner. Aside from that most street riders would never really be able to tell much difference. When deciding between Pilot Power/Power Pure and Pilot Road 2 you must decide whether dry grip or mileage are most important to you. If grip is most important, use the PP 2 or Pure 2. If mileage is most important, use the Road 2's.
Yes, I realize it's not a long distance tire, but from the looks of things on the Michelin site they will last longer than the Pilot Powers. I thought this was interesting. They have a wider, softer shoulder but still have a relatively (medium) hardness centre. I was wondering if this is a happy medium between the Pilot Power and the Pilot Road 2. Many people including BR have switched or tried the Pilot Road 2 and liked them - I was wondering if this is more of a compromise on sport tires or a more fully sport tire - the information available doesn't seem to indicate it would wear any quicker. I love the Pilot Road 2 - I'm on my third set and they last forever (current set has over 16,000 kilometres).
Just curious. My No Mar Jr. Pro tire changer comes this week, so I was thinking of trying a set of these before my long summer journey.
These are between a Power One Race tire and a PP2ct..
at best they will equal the mileage of a PP2ct. I doubt they will come anywhere close to a PR2..
