FI Light Glowing

Last year on a trip down south FI light lit up after a brief downpour.After the first stop,it didn't re-light and hasn't since in a few thousand miles.A couple of days ago after a few hours of riding it lit up and kept glowing til I got home.
Before I dig into the shop manual,anyone know where I should check first? Any common problems/fixes? Haven't had any problems yet other than leaking coolant pump and haven't changed the sub harness/blue wire.
Did have a couple of mice jump out of the fairing as they have before so I'm gonna check wires/ECU and air filter to see if the little bastards have done any damage,

Mine did this across the State Of Kansas last year, I was running the bike as it was designed to do, like 120mph for 4 hours or so, no high engine temps...but was a tank after tank speed run all afternoon, the FI light came on about 3 different times, I actually just rolled, turned key off, then on and it was gone. No apparent reason for it. Bike continues to run fine, many more miles on it , no problems. If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them, harness recall completed. Just glad bike did not stop and no tickets or jail time, it was a riding day I will always remember, great, but the light on ....wtf? Will I have to push it 100 miles to next town? thanks, Doug

There's a how-to on the forum somewhere that explains how to run a diagnostic on the FI system to see if any faults have been recorded in the FI memory.
