Went to my Dealer today when the transport truck with the bike arrived. We popped the top of the crate off and got these pictures. The bike is being prepped and I will pick it up tomorrow and take some new pictures without the surrounding crate.

I was ready to take the crate apart myself, put the battery in add a bit of gas and go. It just looks like it wants to move.
IT'S HOME
Picked it up at lunch and it is now home. So far about 100km. Impressions so far are the same as a lot have said. It loses about 100lbs as soon as it starts moving. Seating position and pegs are sporty without being cramped. Brakes very strong. and oh did I mention the sound. When that secondary exhaust valve opens at about 4800rpm it is pure motoGP....beautiful. More detail as I get more miles in.

I gave my card to a guy about a year ago who worked as a salesman in Newnan, GA at the dealership where i purchase my parts.
He called me this week to let me know the VFR I was asking about was in, but he had moved to Columbus to a "better" dealership.
Extreme Powersports in Columbus, GA has one in stock. No one at the dealership knows anything about it. I took a look at it, rolled it out from the pack, sat on it, made vroom sounds (prolly somehwere between the standard exhaust sound and the sound when the secondary valve opens).
We talked a lot about the bike and it's features. After a few minutes perhaps half of their salesforce was standing within ear shot to hear about the bike.
Does anyone know if American Honda is hiring regional sales managers who actually like motorcycles to teach their delaership staff about the products they pimp?
THe fit and finish are beyond anything I have ever seen on a motorcycle. The paint is stunning, how do they get it to look like a deep pool of liquid?

Very short update it rained most of the day so I didn't ride it to work but got about 1/2 hour in when I got home. Front wheel comes up real easy in first gear but I am the kind that gets nervous once it leaves the ground by 6" so that was it for me. Spent a littlw time poking around the bike, seat off etc. The fit and finish on this bike under the seat is almost as good as on the exterior. I have not been able to find a single place where there is a seam or planned gap where everyting is not perfectly aligned. I could sit and look at the paint all day I heard it was a new paint process but it is still something to behold. There is not a picture that I have seen that does it justice.
Won't be doing much riding this weekend as I am leaving for business but I will be right back on it come mid-week when I return.

I finally saw one in the flesh today, moto-lust damn near took hold of me. I couldn't weasel a demo ride (I promise you I can afford to buy it, I have no job but a rich uncle who loves me :pinocchio: ).
The fit and finish on those things is just nutty, reminds me of my classic Japanese cameras :fing02:
I'm jealous, super stoked for you, ride the wheels off it!
Let's see. I replaced my 86 with a 98. I'm probably due. Have to wait till the finances line up is all. Nice bike. BTW they look a lot better moving at about 80mph or better than they do standing still. VFRs aren't for posers they're for riders. Have fun with your new babies.

I am in the Ottawa area. Stopped by the Dealer yesterday and he has 2 more on the floor. One is sold (February) and is awaiting pick-up. The other he says he may use as a demo depending on whether he can wring anymore out of Honda. If he can then yes but if not then he will probably not use it as a demo except for a serious buyer. Both bikes had quite a crowd around them

Over here in Spain they have a couple of demo models that do the rounds so each dealer gets a few weeks to offer test rides to possible buyers... I get to spend an hour on one this Thursday... :rolleyes: (and it's silver...)

Update
250km in and I am in love. On another thread Phobe has written a review that says everything I wanted to say. At 6' 1" the bike fits me perfectly and the seat is comfortable. If you get the chance try one of these and bring a chequebook with you cause you will want one as soon as you ride it.
Did I mention.....I love this bike.
