Who will be first to custom-paint their VFR1200?

Anyone contemplating doing a custom paint job on their recently-purchased or soon-to-be-purchased VFR1200? I like the basic lines of the fairings and think there will be a lot of great possibilities with different colors for the tank, fairings, tailsection, wheels, etc. Looking forward to seeing pics on this site sooner rather than later!!!

These pics aren't of a VFR1200... I don't get it (???)

Give it the "Timmy the cop" style all flat black paintjob so it does not look so big.......but I guess it IS a 1200....
Or maybe a Giger style "alien" paintjob will also be good to match the headlight....

By all accounts the stock paint/finish of the VFR1200 is one of its standout qualities. Can't imagine messing with it.

Thanks for the explanation. I get it now! You're right, probably not too many VFR riders would have such misguided/Satanic/juvenile/poor (pick one) taste when it comes to custom paint schemes. :biggrin:

:+1: :+1: :+1: - maybe after a few years of hard use...

The only way I'd consider painting it is if I crashed it.

I was curious about any pending paint jobs since here in the USA at least one can buy the VFR in any color he/she chooses, as long as it's candy dark red :biggrin: and that might not agree with everyone.

Exactly. I, for one, try not to let my Satanism affect my aesthetic choices :goofy:

I think a custom paint job is a lot more viable on a V12 than other VFRs - there's just so much less to have to paint.

The first custom paint on an Australian 6th Gen appeared about 5 weeks after they went on sale - a lowside and a repaint in Suzuka Sun.
