85 VF500F petcock

Does anyone know if a petcock from an 85 VF500F will fit into the tank of an 86 VF500? I have access to a tank, but the petcock is missing.

I actually started to say, "yes it will." but now I can't remember is they changed something on the vacuum line that operates the diaphragm that opens the valve when the engine is running.

I believe it will fit.

No, they are not interchangeable.

This is a comparison, '86 mounted on the tank (left), and '85 sitting there (right):
