Miguel made a deal with Shawnee Honda in Oklahoma and is flying in to OK City on June 19th.  Let's come out and aggravate him while he signs the papers and takes acquisition of the new beast.   Posted Image
I was planning to ride up to AR for three days that same weekend so I'll just ride up to OK on Friday if any of you Dallas riders want to join.

Saturday June 19th:
  • HS flies into OK City arriving somewhere between 1:00pm and 1:30pm
  • Shade picks up HS at the airport on his VFR.
  • Shade delivers him screaming all the way to the dealership somewhere between 2:00pm and 2:30pm.
  • Typical dealership harrassment with lots of paperwork, dancing girls and pictures.
  • Ride to Gary's place.
  • Eat dinner somewhere.
Sunday June 20th:
  • Gary tells HS to get his arse back home to CO and sends him on his way.

PROOF!

Finally aboard the new steed.

The First Ride.  HS was giggling the whole time.  I'm surprised he didn't split his helmet with the monster grin he had on his face.  The bike is very quite at low speed so we could hear him snickering every time he made a pass through the parking lot. Posted Image

I cracked up a little when HS pulled out the FLAF and started telling his sales chick about it.  All she was looking at was the hideous stain as seen by her expression in this shot.

HS:  We started this way back when BR was just a young pup and it's been around the blah, blah, blah.

Dawn:  (Thinking To Herself) OMG what the hell is that stain??  Blech!!!

Until I see pics of HS stripping her naked in his garage I won't believe this isn't a hoax... could have just been a test ride at Honda Day...   :fing02:    :bliss:

We had to tear into it to see what was going on behind that shiny tupperware!  The only way to do that of course was to use a big cordless drill!   Posted Image

While Miguel was still asleep, Gary and I gave it a fenderectomy.

Nobody had a clue about putting it back together though.

I'M IN!  Wouldn't miss it for the world.  Depending on Miguel's departure plans, Cathy and I can host a celebratory cook-out at our house or would be glad to haul people to Cattleman's Steakhouse.
#3
Everyone needs to come on up to Omaha after he picks up the bike to join the track days Sat & Sunday.

I will provide the guest rooms, food & beer.  You just bring bikes.
#4
I was just planning on flying in and staying the night in OKC, Shade is picking me up from the airport and Gswanson is offering to have a cookout at his place - sounds really good to me.  Then ride the 600 or so miles home in the moring.  I got the flaf if nobody has signed it yet.  The flight doesnt even come into town till 1:12 and I am sure the paperwork will take an hour or so.  Then pictures at the dealership I may just buy a new helmet when I am there since mine was damage in the crash - one less thing to take on the plane.
#5
FAR OUT!! So this actually happened... I didn't see it... where do I send the cash??

Congratulations Miguel... I'm chuffed 4 ya!!
#6
OK.. I see it on the frontpage... will add my 2 cents' worth ASAP

If I had known there was food going to be involved I would bail on the Dance Recital I am going to attend.  (not really)  I know Dutch will take some excellent photos, I can't wait to see them.

Make sure we get a photo of Slammer on the back of Shade's bike coming from the airport.   (Shade.... you MUST pick up Slammer with the bike)
#8
Sounds good Gary!  It's your call as to whether you and Cathy want to hassle with food and such.  Cattleman's Steakhouse has some good vittles for sure!
#9
Might try and ride up Saturday.
#10
I would like to make it  (who from DFW are may be going).  Have to check the calendar of events.  People spending Sat. night possibly stay at same Motel, tell lies and tip a few?

No, everyone needs to ride to Florida, so HS can finally see the Atlantic Ocean.  And then we'll all go to tiki bars along the beachfront, returning to my shack for the pole dancing in the garage from 1 am til dawn.   HS will look totally HOT in Aerostitch spandex shorts and a Rocket bandau top!

Doesn't it make total sense to ride here from Oklahoma before turning around and heading back to Colorado?  You can just slab back for 2500 miles on I-10.  Awesome trip!  And just think....even BR has ridden motorcycles in Flat Friggin' Florida!

Here's a pic of Squidboy BR and Liz.  So, I'm thinking that HS should be able to do a wheelie all the way down Main Street in Daytona!!   :bliss:    After all, we're even flatter than Nebraska!

I'll bet Shade has a spare.... question is.... Is it big enough to fit that huge lump on your shoulders inside?  Gotta' admit you have one large sized noggin.

And you don't owe me nuthin', Shade.   We're all good.

Lee, get somebody to videotape that recital and come on down.  Recitals happen all the time but how many times do you get to harass Miguel when he's buying  a new bike with donated money!   Posted Image

Never mind us guys, family comes first.  You dont get back those moments you get to be with your familu for recitals, games, get togethers.  Once they are gone they are gone.  I certainly understand and hope to see you another time.

I'm betting the local dealer didn't want to let it go for $13,800 OTD like the other dealer was advertising.

Just got home from OK.Slammer is lovin' the ride and power. He let us stock holders that were there take it for a spin. Not what I was expecting.Turns easy, doesn't feel heavy and has good power.Too bad the best twisties in that part of the state is when your changing lanes on the interstate!

Dutch... put down the vodka and post some photos.

..... oh, I forgot that Gary doesn't have internet at his house.... we might be out of luck until dutch reaches civilization.

I think they're just messing with us....

But I must say, this is especially cruel and unusual.  We all know what a red '1200 looks like, but surely there's a cellphone pic from a parking lot or gas station somewhere...   :laughing6-hehe:

Looking into bags now, as I dont like the cortec bags on it.

Nothing on the GIVI site yet for the 1200.

Ventura does have a system for the 1200, but I don't know if you want to go back to soft bags or stay with hard cases.
