Fuel consumption two up with luggage?

Hi All,
What kind of fuel consumption numbers are you all getting riding two-up with luggage? If you state in the numbers in MPG, please state if it is in imperial gallons or U.S. Gallons.

Uhhh, how much weight you carrying, riding style, and avg speed? For reference, mine loaded with me and about 100 pounds of gear, including the luggage, gets about 35-40 MPG (US) running about 75-80 mph. Increase speed to 85-xxx and the mpg drops down to about 25-30 mpg (air temp in high 90's plus)...Nevada's darn hot is August!!!

Depends on the speed you are cruising at. I always got better mpg when riding two-up because the wife didn't like going fast through turns. Fully loaded on my Colorado trip I saw as high as 52 mpg (just 1-up) and that was cruising through a bunch of twisties. So again, it depends mostly on your speed.

I 'm wondering about the 7th Generation's fuel consumption since I'm looking at purchasing a VFR1200f in the next few weeks. I'm assuming by your avatar that you are getting 52 (US) MPG on a 6th gen bike?

Usually around 38-44 mpg but that's city mixed driving. Cruising longer rides I see 46-52 mpg.

As for the 1200's...I can't say since I don't own one but I would expect it to be less because of heavier bike + more power, and so on. I've read several of HS's ride reports and I believe he likes to fill up around 160 miles but I don't know what kind of mileage he is reporting?

Fuelly.com is a good place to find real world consumption data, but they only have a little VFR1200F data so far.
