My "Yellow Peril" project bike in California needs a pressure gauge, so it was a logical decision to add a voltmeter as well (even though I'm not a big fan of analog voltmeters--or their accuracy). So, if there was a set of gauges with the Honda logo, well...

Honda Marine gauges have been made by a few different manufacturers, but the VDO ones don't seem to be current. Working with part numbers and educated guesses, I was able to track down a Honda Marine VDO voltmeter at a lawnmower parts place (believe it or not!), which was great, but the supposedly "matching" pressure gauge they sent me doesn't match! It looks very much like the classic VDO "Cockpit" gauge (with the Honda logo in the wrong font), whilst the voltmeter has the correct logo, has a squared-off bezel and has a screw-on retaining ring--a much cleaner look for a semi-exposed gauge. It's almost like the pressure gauge is from a different series, but I don't think there was more than one series of VDO Honda Marine gauges. :dry:
(The part number for the voltmeter is 37452-ZW5-000ZA, $15.95, and the part number for the pressure gauge is 37352-ZW5-000ZA, $21.95, both @ www.lawn-parts.com. The voltmeter came up on Ron Ayers' site, but was NLA when they tried to order it from Honda for me last year.)
Not sure what I'm going to do now--if I can't have a matching gauge, it may as well be one with a more readable psi scale (i.e., 0-15). :sad:
