Air filter compatibility: vfr700 and 750

As I understand it, the 86-87 VFR700 and VFR750 parts are compatible.

How about the carbs, are they the same?


Before I go pull the trigger and buy it, will a 750 air filter fit the 700?

The air filter is the same for all 86-87 VFR700/750 models.

The carbs are a bit different. The 700 is a Keihin VD BAB and the 750F is a Keihin VD BAA. That said, if you swap them as a complete assembly they are interchangeable between the 700 and 750.

The 86 VFR700/750 are 95% interchangeable, the exception being the engine internals. The 87 VFR750F2 adds some electrical (ignition, wiring, gages, etc.) changes over the 86.
