Reshape Tire Profile?

I threw on a new set of Bridgestones just prior to a 4000 mile trip last month. There were plenty of twisties along the way however, there was a lot of slab involved as well. You all know that means I now have a relatively new set of tires with tons of tread left that have a somewhat flat profile. I was just curious if anybody has ever tried using some sort of rasp or sanding block to take off the corners of a flat spotted tire to try to restore a more appropriate "new tire" profile. I invision setting the thing up on the center stand, dropping it into second and let the clutch out while I reshape the tire. I would obviously have somebody help stabilize the bike so I don't push it off of the stand and add my name to the list of driveway tip-overs. Does this sound insane? :laughing6-hehe:

These Bridgestones survived the trip in MUCH BETTER condition than the Roadsmarts from my last trip.
