Finally, after 3hrs and 45 minutes of Greyhound bus ride. Met the now "previous owner" at the station. A short 15 minutes of cage ride, met the VFR800FI in front of his tool shed. What a beauty. All receipts were well kept. The last oil and oil filter change was done 150 miles ago with OEM filter, and Castrol 20W-50 at the dealer. She had 13462 miles on the meter when I first saw her.
40 minutes later, I was heading home. The first 15 miles was terrible, because I made a big mistake by bring my open face helmet instead of full face. The glasses just trying to fly away, and tears were blurry my sights. Began to think about those negative things. Had to stop by a shopping center, bought myself a over the glasses goggle which was a life saver. I couldn't believe I was that stupid.
The rest of the riding home was a wonderful experience. Now I know that the open face helmet and Interceptor are not compatible. Have to find out the hard way. :-)
Tomorrow will do some more riding, maybe able to take few pictures. Love the way she parks in the garage. May have a lot of questions coming too. Thank you guys for helping me with the checking list. BTW, The bike comes with the owner's manual. My reading material tonight. Got to go, talk to you later.

Welcome aboard! How about a pic or two of your new toy? Sounds to me like you could use a good modular helmet. I own two modular helmets and absolutely love them.

Welcome aboard. If you haven't already bought one, have a good look at the Shoei TZR model. Good bang for the buck and order a 'whisper kit' and 'pin-lock' accessories for cool weather riding..

As for the helmet, if you go purchase a fullface one, see if you can test ride it/have a return policy. I found that with the HJC modular lid I had bought,
Well, This is my 16th bike in the past 8 years. Might be the end of searching for the right one. Only have her for 2 days. But the fun factor is wonderfully high. Put about 90 miles in 59F today. A bit chilly, but could not stop smiling. One thing that bothers me though. All my other rides have high windshield, so, open face, half shelf, full face no problems. But this one, with my flip up helmet. When up to more than 75mph, the nice fuel injecting engine sound suddenly replaced by the whistle from the helmet. I guess a new helmet shopping will be needed. Other than that, I am glad I have the chance of owning this nice ride. Hi, ha.

There are some aftermarket screens available too. Zero Gravity's double bubble, plus some other styles that have a turned up lip. One company makes a clear foil that mounts to the top of the screen. You may need to shop around to find the one that works best for your height.
