Well I am hunting for sympathy, finally got my bike complete and went out for a ride after all the mods and paint were complete. Parked outside a friends place, on his drive under the carport for the evening. When I came back from a walk to the pub some little S@$T had tried to steal my new look baby only to be unable to move her, so decide to go to town vandalizing her.
They have smashed my laser deep tome exhausts and motads headers, custom seat off the bike and gone, PC III damaged. Tyres slashed, Screen smashed, handle bars slashed, levers bent, mirrors gone, headlights smashed. Every panel keyed, tanked dented and fuel contaminated. Luggage racks bent.
Luckily SATO rearsets left alone, HEL braided brake lines and galfer wavy discs not touched. Wheels still on her. CF BB left on ( I think they missed it). New Rear shock and RaceTech front upgrades not touched.
So now comes the collecting of new parts and the rebuild and repaint. Think io might try a new look paint scheme.
So anyone with any suggestions as to new look and replacement parts let me know. Will be getting parts slowly one at a time each month I think. Insurance company is going mental at the minute as I had only had the bike info updated that week. They think I am scamming them. I have all the receipts so they can go and jump.
Parts already obtained: Tank (no damage just red) MRA DB Screen sent for free by MRA when i told them what happened (V.Nice of them) Original seat still in garage so no issue there, old mirrors as well still lying around.
Sorry "bout what happened...... I'm amazed that you're still wanting to rebuild, I think I'd be in a f'it mood for now...... how's you parking space at home?

wow im sorry for what happened to your bike. id be devistated. its probably a good thing you didnt catch them in the act, as you probably would have killed them.(i know i would have).

What a shite world we live in sometimes. Sorry to hear about this mate, but by listing the undamaged items, it sounds like you got yer head on right and can at least see the bright side of things. If it'd been me that'd been vandalized, I might not've even posted until after I was done hunting the buggers down - and even then it would have to be after I was released on bail. :biggrin:

WHAT? How can you tell they tried to steal it with all the other crap that happened? Mirrors completly gone? Not just broken/smashed? Levers bent? Fuel contaminated? How the hell would THAT happen in a vandalism incident? Seat completly gone? Something is a bit wierd here. JMO

I lived in apt's for 30 years in Denver ... Had my Jeep broken into, and several covers that were locked on my MC's....... But haven't had any of them vandalized.... There's just no reason for that crap..... And those creeps never get caught.......

I don't get people who vandalize. I know if this happened to my I'd want to vandalize the little f rs who did this. If the insurance makes good on all the damage you should be all right.. If they ever catch the little POS make sure you post up about it. I just cracked you open a bottle of sympathy beer and am going to drink it on your behalf. Cheers and sympathy mate.
I'm very sorry for what happened to your bike. I would be so freakin' pissed off I would probably be looking (hopelessly) for the perpetrator.
Hell! Somebody freakin' stole 3 of my Succulent shrubs on my front yard and I'm pissed! Who and why would someone steal plants? I hate freakin' thieves and vandals. I like the way they used to treat these bastards--hang them on street lamps.
Sounds like you need a motion detector alarm added to your bike for what ever motivated the hopefully pus infected anal warts. It makes me thankful for having a garage and a shotgun and working on a military installation.
Sheeesh - that truly sucks man. I got pissed when someone stole a gelpad off of 1 of my bikes a few years ago. I can't imagine how pissed you are.
Well - I was going to sell my alarm from my previous bike instead of installing it on my VFR, but now...I gotta re-think that. Good luck man. Love to see some before pics - and after pics.

So basically what you are implying is that i have made this up. Bike was anchored to the ground + disc lock fitted to front wheel. A previous owner of the property must have had something worth protecting.
Mirrors mounted on extensions, which are nylon i believe, a good yank on them and they will snap. More than likely in a bin somewhere. I guess as they managed to damage the tank, screen, headlights, mirrors etc they used a tool of some sort. Like a crowbar or a baseball bat like in the movies. I had keyless fuel cap fitted over 2 years ago, so access to tank was easy.
I take it by your idiotic comments that you have never been a victim of vandalism. People do funny things when they feel like it.

I don't see where anyone thinks you made it up, I think it's a norm for people to want to solve a crime, and bring up these ideas to help victims try to look in different directions. In this case looking for someone your friend might have a problem with could lead you closer than looking for a random bashing/theft. Again....... My empathies to you..........
