Does anyone know of a good source for OEM head gaskets for the VF1000R? Or what comes in the gasket kit A? Does anyone have any feedback on the Factory Pro Jet Kit on their VF1Kr. Thanks in advance for any help. I should have my motor out tomorrow.
Where can I get OEM head gaskets for my VF1Kr

I just purchased both the A and B kits a couple of weeks ago, so that's the way to go.
Factory Pro kits are the only way to go for a jet kit. Don't bother with anythig else!

Yeah, I purchased the B kit from cheapcycleparts but I couldn't find the A kit. Where did you order yours from? I've got my motor out and on the bench and I will be splitting it soon. I intend to p/p the heads and have a Serdi valve job done on them. I wish I could tighten the deck and or mill the heads for more CR. Anyway I will try to post some pics. I am going to install a Factory jet kit too when I get that far. I have some emulators from a previous project but I'm having a hard time getting a response from Race Tech about a set of installation instructions for the VF1000R. You wouldn't happen to have a set laying around you could email would you? Anyway, thanks again for the info. Here's a pic (I hope)

Emulator install is really simple, you just have to take the forks apart to do it. Might as well replace seals & bushings while you're in there.
The basic gist of it is, you cut off the TRAC adjuster rod attached to the fork cap, disable the TRAC at the bottom, and remove the screens on the tops of the damping pistons. Then drill 6(iirc) large holes in the piston bodies. When that's done, on reassembly you just drop the GVE on top of the piston before installing the springs. Trim the stock preload spacer, or factor in the thickness of the GVE when you cut new spacers for aftermarket springs.
I can scan the instructions from my set over the weekend, possibly. I have pics in my 83 resto thread as well.

I also welded shut the holes for the air crossover, and deleted that function altogether.

I ordered mine through my local Honda dealer. That's really the best and cheapest way to go for OEM Honda parts. The online places aren't always what they are cracked up to be.
I probably have a copy of the RT instruction sheet. Shoot me an e-mail as a reminder and I'll get you a scanned copy.

Yeah, I am going to replace the fork seals and bushings. Thats what started the emulator installation process. I would have done them anyway because I have put them in some other projects and they are awesome. WHat kind of brake pads have you had work the best for you? Heres a pic of [image: Attached Image: DSCF0226.JPG]my forks before.
