The supertraps on my 83 vf are pretty rusted up inside and falling apart. Supertrap no longer makes that model so I am looking around.
My question to you pros is since I will probably have to change the pipe from the collector to the can, mine are 3 inch dia at the can, how much
will that change affect the bike..... I am hoping I dont need to go to the headach of rejetting.
I have bee looking and I cant find ay cans with a 3 inch inlet... maybe I ust havent found the right website.

Nah, those SuperTraps are pretty low on the performance scale so if you get some decent pipes it can only make the performance better. Rejetting? Yeah, that's a definite maybe. It shouldn't be too bad though, just a needle height adjustment probably.
You might try getting a set of pipes for a VTR1000F or CBR1100XX. Either of those two would be easy to adapt to fit your bike. Good luck!

if you have a suggestion on a brand and model.
I think the pipes that come off the collector are wither custon or came from a supertrapp install. the original muffer is,
if I remember correctly, all on piece from colletor to end.
If I go with a 2.5 inch pipe, bent to fit to a different can I maybe ok..... I think it would look pretty nice with a two brothers or Jardine but
the pipes will then cost more than the bike cost. hahahaha
I'd just get what you like. The stock collector has 2" outlets - FYI.
