I'm trying to find these tiny o-rings on the pilot screw and can't seem to find them, I've looked at the parts fiche and cant seem to find it at all, it doesnt even seem to be pictured, I'm pretty sure they dont come with the gasket set either cause i ordered that when i rebuilt my carbs last time, but anyway its an 1986 VFR700F2 cali model. if anyone knows where i can get these things I'd be so grateful. I've checked all the parts houses in town but no one has one this small. :angry: oh and how do i properly set the float height, how do i measure it :comp13:

These ARE hard to find. I assume you have not removed the stockers from your carbs?
Get a good light and look in there. I have to remove them with a paper clip that is straightened out, with the tiniest hook bent into the end of it with needlenose pliers. Bent the very tip of the paperclip into an "L" shape and it can move that little o-ring in there. The o-ring is under a brass washer, both are small enough to lose if you tip the carbs and they fall out and just roll away, never to be seen again.
These should be included with a carb rebuild kit...they are close enough to other models' sizes that, if you can find a decent local shop, you may be able to get the mechanic to fish a few out of his kits for you for cheap.
That's the best I can offer....well ok maybe it helps that I used a few of the rubber washers from my extras for my Concours 1000, so if you can source them, they should work....

Upon further inspection one of my pilot screws is missing a spring and washer, wonderful now I have to find one of those too. Could explain why its never ran quite right.

I looked around locally and found the stuff I needed :biggrin: got it all back together and its running great, I'm sure it needs to be synced but it seems to be running flawlessly. Thanks to everyone who replied
Make sure your o-rings are nitrile, not from ace hardware. Gas is hard on butyl orings and melts them.
