Question for 7th gen owners with Auto trans.
I am really considering this bike with Full Auto next year.
Can you share your impressions for the transmission?
Out in the twisties in sport mode?
Stop and go traffic?
Is it worth it?
Thanks
Dave

Can you share your impressions for the transmission? It's brilliant! :cheerleader:
Out in the twisties in sport mode? It's brilliant but manual mode is even better. :cheerleader:
Stop and go traffic? Outstanding! :cheerleader:
Is it worth it? Yes! :cheerleader:
Thanks -- your welcome Dave

Podman took the words (and dancing pom-pommed smiley faces) right out of my mouth! It is brilliant in all respects (despite "Drive" mode being rarely used - at least by me). Find yourself a test ride and make sure you have at least half an hour to really play with it. You won't be sorry!
I spend 95+% in manual mode. It's only when I get to the good twisties do I let the auto sport take over so I can focus on the riding. And here's a tip: the DCT works best from 4K rpm up, and above 6K rpm it really enters it's sweet spot, it'll rock your world!
Can you share your impressions for the transmission? It is brilliant. You select drive mode on the RH handlebar switch. I always set off in D mode, as I have a gravel driveway and my road is quite twisty, muddy and potholed. By the time I get to the main road, the bike and trans are warm and it's runtime, so I switch to S. D mode changes up very early and seems to make the engine labour, but actually the change up revs are a function of throttle opening. Also it is useful in the wet.... S mode enables you to just get on and ride. If you are in town, it tends to hold 2nd upto near 40 mph, but a quick flick of the up change button sorts that.
Out in the twisties in sport mode? Set and forget. You accelerate, it changes up. You decelerate and brake, it changes down.
Stop and go traffic? So easy to gently open throttle and dribble through.
Is it worth it? Hell yeah!
Thanks

I have 220 miles on my V12 simply love the bike and transmission. D mode shifts are too quick for my taste even in the city. S mode has almost perfect shift points for all around riding. Manual mode you are in control for what ever type of riding you want to do, it even shifts down to first gear when you stop if you forget you are in manual mode, yes I have done that several times already. I had doubts if I would like the DCT for me it was worth every penny.
