MUCH better!

My '86 rescue was looking quite rough when I got it. Cracked plastics, 25 years worth of dirt.

I've been getting a few parts here and there: a bright green tank and aftermarket fiberglass front cowl, severely faded but not cracked dash plastics.

There aren't funds for automotive paint, not if I want to actually ride the bike on overnight trips. But I had some automotive clearcoat left over for the spray gun.

I taped off the plastics and rattle-canned them, then went over with the clear. It's by no means a fantastic-looking bike, but at least now it doesn't look like it belongs in the junkyard....

Pretty sure it's Maier lowers, some kind of aftermarket touring windshield, some high-zoot fiberglass upper cowling.

I gotta update the profile, I've sold both the Vmax and my CB750 because the VFR is just better at doing what they did...and it's a hoot to ride, too!
