I've been corresponding with Tony Guymer at MCCruise for some time. They finally found a 1200 FD (DCT) bike to work with and have developed a kit that works for both models. Yesterday he told me "We should have a kit available for delivery as soon as Frank writes the instructions!! He is busy but an order will nudge him along." So I placed an order.

If you're curious, take a look at their web page. (click here)

Price is a little bit more than for the kit for the 6th gen, which is to say that this isn't going to appeal to everyone. But for those of us who want true electronic cruise control, we now have an option that we can at least consider.

Thank you Tony! and thank you MCCruise! :tour:

Got it, love it. And Tony and Frank are great to deal with.

They customized a control box for me when mine went south after 10 years.

They had to split it open and rewire it to work with the older cruise module, which it does nicely.

Cough cough. That sure is a big price! Holy Toledo!

Yup. But what can I say? These aren't exactly mass market dvd players. Or even niche market VFR panniers -- Yikes!! I'm just grateful I can be on the buying end of this particular equation rather than trying to make a living developing and selling them -- at any price. I'm glad that MCCruise is willing to try. And I hope there are enough VFR owners out there that'll make them glad they did. But by all means, if you think the price is too steep, DO NOT BUY ONE...

I have a folder of links in my browser called "Wanted", with items like these on it:

DAM EXHAUST
HeliBars
VFR 1200 Carbon Parts
Tank Bag

Now I've added a new one - just not sure when the budget and my CFO (wife) will be in alignment for it. I originally had the throttlemeister on the list, but this is so much nicer.

I'm glad they're doing it too. Posted Image
