6th gen solo racks for sale

I have plenty of 6th Gen Solo Racks available.  

For anyone not familiar - it is a rack that mounts onto the grab handles, and provides a platform from which you can then mount your topbox base and subsequently your topbox.

Comes predrilled for HOnda topbox, or the GIVI series - like the E52 MAXIA.

Powder Coated gloss black.  Comes with 4 bolts, and lock washers to replace existing grab handle bolts.

Price is $124.00 USD Shipped via USPS to North America.  Canadians can pay in Canadian funds - $124.00.

I just bought a 2004 with a rack like this installed.

Unfortunately, on my bike, the rear passenger pegs have been removed and it is a solo seater.

But, I need to keep the grab rails on, because of the hole under the grab handle that the bolts go through.

Any chance of making little black inserts to cover that rectangular hole in the rear cowl under your rack, to allow elimination of the handles for a smoother look?

Cool idea - but right now I'm sitting on a ton of $ I invested to make this batch of Solo Racks.  Maybe once I've cleared out the product - I can take a run at doing your idea.  thanks.

Ah, I see.  Well, it would be a nice add-on.

I may try to jigsaw some plate aluminum and use hand files to fit something.

it's a pretty low priority.  getting out KLRs ready for a long CDT trip is more pressing right now.

I don't think it can be mounted without the grab rails.  Even if the holes lined up there would be a big square hole in the fairing where the grab rail normally goes.  This rack sits on top of the grab rail and is then bolted down.

As for soft bags, I can't see how they would be mounted to it.  This rack is basically a plate which you then bolt a Givi topbox plate onto, and its function and design is purely to bring an existing topbox installation forward over the rear wheel hub.

Just a heads up - I STILL have plenty of racks ready to ship - there were some folks that backed out after committing their interest - and now I'm stuck with the end result.

I can ship right away - and would really like to move them out!!

Here's my Solo rack fitted!  Love it - way better than hanging the top box out the back of the bike past the wheel hub! I had to drill a couple of extra holes, but that's only because I use a Givi universal Monolock plate rather than the dedicated E52 plate or the Honda plate.

Important note.  These things are rock solid and a heck of a lot easier to install than the Givi top rack (and about $40 cheaper) so you can easily mount/remove them in just a few minutes!   :fing02:

Yes, they mount up to the baseplate and the stock holes provided in the Solo Rack should line up perfectly.  If not, just drill your own holes like I did.

I concur, it works out perfect.  I had to drill new holes, but installation of my new trunk to all of 20-25 mins.  I couldn't be happier with it.

Ken, I got my rack today. SUPER nice piece of kit, I could not be happier.

Guys, if you are even remotely on the fence, or ever think you might want a top case someday, you need to get this mount. Very well made and super sturdy.

Just got a new to me VFR that came with factory side cases but no grab rails. Will this mount work with the side case mounts? I would like to be able to add a trunk for longer trips.

It has the factory side cases, metal mounting bracket with two bolts going in. Could the rack ride atop the side case bracket?

It has the factory side cases, metal mounting bracket with two bolts going in. Could the rack ride atop the side case bracket?

I suppose it could....I'm interested in a picture of your current setup if you've got one because I still can't visualise what you're talking about.  As far as I can imagine, there's a dirty great square hole in your fairing right now where a lot of water gets in when it rains.

Wow that's super dodgy - water must get in there all the time.    I don't think anyone could guarantee you that the rack would fit mate; you'd  just have to try it and see.

Personally I'd buy some grab rails.

I'm trying :excl:   I managed a right one from someone else on the forum, still looking for a left. I may just have to break down and get one from Honda, but at about $90 apiece with hardware, they are on the steep side.
