My local dealer (Arie Molenaar) has his annual open day.
This year he got 10 DCT's from Honda to demo. And free burgers.....

Broken front chin vent replaced, visor locking mechanism lubed, top vent cleared of bugs and helmet polished..............  Free.

and for sure, braking technology has moved on

I tried a few emergency stops and give 10/10. Very strong braking,  the ABS kicked in late and without any of the rattling like on earlier bikes like the ST1100 (different era, I know)


Stopped by the house, my wife liked the front, thought the exhaust was ugly (no argument here)

So ride impressions over a bit over 1 hours riding the DCT:

- DCT take 5 minutes to get used to
-D mode is very tame, shifting up (too) quickly to 6th gear, S mode is much better, even in the pouring rain
-using the flippers, 1st gear pulls to 115kmh, 2nd to 160kmh,  you really feel when the restriction drops off (if you hammer it)
-windprotection is very good, sense of speed is less than on my 4th gen so before you notice you do 160 in a 80.... Got some side windgusts but the V12 is undeterred   :fing02: Windflow over stock screen very good, no buffeting, even at ahem.... speeeds
-rainprotection (got a few downpours) torso well protected, arms get wet.  Airflow not pushing away the raindroplets.  And yes without raingear on, yer nuts will get wet eventually   :pissed:
-Handling not as nimble as my red slut, but that may be due to having ridden her for almost 14 years...
-fuel economy, donot know donot care.

I was asked to fill in a questionare afterwards, my only 2 gripes are the D mode (if you want to save fuel, ride a bicycle) and the faxct that a centre stand is an option.


So, GREAT bike guys!!  

But it reminded me more of my brothers ST1100 than my sportier 4th Gen. Reminded, cos side by side, the V12 with smoke the ST.

Love the black.  Wish they would have offered it in the states.  I'm "suffering" with the candy red one instead.   :biggrin:

I think the D mode has it's uses.  I use mine alot in D mode when I'm commuting back and forth to work.  Mostly highway ride so pretty boring anyway and the D mode fits that ride pretty well and does help with the gas usage.

With an ambient temperature of 15celcius and having riding for 30 minutes, I stopped at my brother's to show off the bike.
Within half a minute, the fan kicked in....
