Meeting some friends partway between OH and MA, for some life catchup and riding. Normally would stay around the State College area, but there seems to be some kind of college sporting activity the weekend of the 24th/25th September.
Anyone have recommendations on an out of the way, lower end (but clean) hotel to stay in?
Oh, we are looking at something kinda like this for a couple days:

:laughing6-hehe:
You're talking Big-Ten Football. PSU v. Eastern Michigan in a stadium that holds 107,000 fans. Without sounding like too much of a wet blanket, have you thought about rescheduling to another weekend??
Ya. That was tongue in cheek. It's taken quite some time to get this trip to happen, so would like to make the effort to make it happen. We might have a camping plan b
And besides, adventures aren't always fun when you are IN them........
;)
Try Raystown Lake area in Huntington PA. About 30 miles south of state college. Very nice area in the mountains. There's la few hotels and a lot if campgrounds with cabin rentals. Should be some good riding. I used to have a camper there on a permanent campsite. If you decide on that area, I'd be interested in meeting up with some other VFR riders.

Thanks to all for your replies and ideas.
Other than a torrential storm on Friday to ride through, we had fantastic weather and trip overall. For those considering the area, I cannot recommend this place enough:

It held 7 of us in complete luxury (and split 7 ways was very reasonable $$). Not a place to trash out (our group is a responsible pillar of the community type - that happen to like to ride from time to time). I would take my family here for a getaway week.
