Amazingly close call in Swiss Championship SBK (apparently)

Was sent this link by a friend. The youtube comments appear to indicate that it takes place during the Swiss Championship. Try not to lose your head. .... or is this a video game?

Bikes dont cartwheel backwards on a straight away. This even accounts for the bike flipping in one place and coming up at post 100 mph of the camera bike. The bike is clearly flipping backwards, at the same rate of speed it was going forward to begin with.

There may have been a crash at that race, but this is doctored.

Looks pretty real to me.
And scary.

It only appears to be going backwards because of the closing speed. If someone faked it they spent a lot of hours working on it.

I mentioned that in my post, taking that into account, its also going flipping backwards at a rear angle.

This video does look very real, but if you watch the reflection of the riders helmut in the tach, you can clearly see he does not lean in the corners. I believe this is video game footage.

If one can fake evidence of WMD, faking a racing video is a piece of cake (no thank you I just had my dinner.....) :tongue:


The Swiss donot have too many racing circuits and very strict laws, so my guess is to go play in their neigbours' gardens... :tour:

Here you see the basic demolition race outwit the Germans in the Circuit Racing Challenge (DRC - "second league in Germany") on 10/09/2011 at Hockenheim. Driver ok, only an additional fall in the back of the field by "collision". Also, no major injuries.

Its possible a slightly dragging front brake overheated the brake fluid and locked the front wheel. I have personally witnessed this happen.

Certainly looks real enough in that one. A google maps search for Hockenheim raceway shows that at least the racetrack exists and the colour of the benches is at least similar.

Might want to check the color of the benches in the other 4 race vids he posted, just to be sure he isn't faking it.

Hockenheim definitely exists, no doubt about that. It went under some changes some 10 years ago or so. As for the video, it seems very realistic.

Used to be a WSB round there, until 2000, and MotoGP until 1994. It was considered a flat, high-speed track, like Monza. Not sure why it was dropped, but it was changed significantly in 1995 and again in 2001...
