Anybody try the Continental Road Attack 2's?

Wondering if anybody has given these tires a try since they are a new addition in the US market. I have run the original road attacks on an 07 R6s which I have railed much of what KY, TN, and NC had to offer with while stationed at Ft. Campbell, Ky. The second set I had initially on my 4th Gen and they were great until they were attacked by dry rot. I was deployed so the bike was forced to sit for a year and some change. I will need a rear soon and I am in between trying that or the pirelli angel because I like the profile more than PR2.

HI D, I'm loving the RA2's mate.
Had the rear now for 10,000kms (kinda shocked me)
Front is 2,000kms old (too early to say)

I think the rear will easily do another 10,000kms.
It doesn't even look half worn... I'm very impressed with longevity.
Grip levels compared to my previous RA and PR2 seem similar.
But it takes alittle longer to get the heat into the RA2... and keep it there. Maybe harder compound.

If I was planning a loaded up, lengthy tour with copious amounts of corners, these RA2 would be hard to pass up.
Even as a single rider, aggressive night commute (30kms one way)... again, still hard to pass up.

It's alittle overcast here today, but I'll try and get a well lit shot of the rear, at 10,000kms.

Have you guys tried the Conti Motion?

I'm curious from all the rave reviews it gets but I'm concerned about the weight rating on it (520lbs.)

I haven't tried the Motions, they also do a Race Attack also.

Dang I hate it when that happens.  I've gone thru a couple of episodes of that as well in the last few months...

The weight range for contimotions are 520lbs front and 805lbs rear, I think they would be fine with loaded riding. THose are the same load ranges as my PR2s right now.  I did a lot of 2 up touring on the road attacks until I had to throw em away because the tread was cracking in places. It wasn't the fault of the tire it was because the bike had to sit for a year and some change with a cover on it.

I have a set on my bike that I put new on just before the trip to Mugello. The tracktion skin works werry well, great grip from first ride. I think they works werry great, and has moved my trust to a nother level. spechally the front as it gives great feedback. Also wet grip seem good, as I didnt have any slipage on the slippery alp roads, where VFRD memeber V4Rosso had a moment on PR2s. I have some 4k km on them now, and the rear looks a lot like Vee-Ef-Ar:s rear in the pic he posted. The front has some slight cuping, and I have a slight headshake at 60km/h, but it can be from a bad steer bearing. I have read from other forums that this modell suffer from same that the Z6, looks ok, and then suddenly showing cords in middel. So I guess I will not get a nother 4k km from my rear, so my former set, RoadSmarts will give better milage.
So overall they are a set of great gripping and behaving tires, like sport ones but whit a more moderat profile, but milage is also at sport bike lever, at least if you compare to what folks get from a set of PP. So I guess I rather try them next. I do might wear out a nother rear before the front is toasted thro, as aside from the slight cuping its still like new.

I would not recommend the Pirelli Angels.  I have had good luck with PR2's, however.  I liked the original Road Attacks, until the PR2's came along and gave better grip and longer life.

These are what I am putting on my 4th gen next. My dad runs Contis on his Triumph RS 955i, which for all intents and purposes was Triumphs equivalent of a VFR in size, weight and geometry. That thing rides like it is on rails and the Contis are quick yet stable through bends. Dad raves about the quick warm up and longevity. Where we live, in Central VIC, the temperatures can vary between days. You might head to work in the 10s and roads are cold, yet you might be riding home in the 20s. Not to mention all manner of road slime, repairs, potholes, gravel, shiny bits from trucks.

I ran Conti Road Attack 'Sport Mileage' on my VFR800.  After trying out several tires over the past couple of years, I settled on the Conti's.  They gave me that confidence that I was always seeking.  Trusting my tires is absolutely paramount important to me as it is I'm sure with most of you.  I didn't trust the Michelin Pilot Road 2's, especially if I ever rolled over a tar snake in a turn.  As soon as that happened, then happened again on another occaision, that did it for me.  Tried the Dunlop Roadsmarts when they first hit the market; the rear tire was defective and wore out quickly.
As soon as I put the Conti Road Attack 'Sport Mileage' tires on the bike, I absolutely pushed them as hard as I was comfortable doing.  Ripping up and down US129, Moonshiner 28 and Cherohala Skyway earned my trust in the Conti Road Attacks.  As soon as these Dunlop Roadsmart 2's wear out on my 2010 VFR1200, a set of Continental Road Attack 2's will be installed, pronto!   Hopefully they will live up to, or perhaps exceed my heightened expectations?
