Fender Eliminator

OK, the 2010 has been out long enough.  Does anyone know where we can purchase a fender eliminator?  I can't find one anywhere.  The bike would look much better with one in my opinion.

thurn motorsport out of germany is the only one I know that makes an eliminator type thing for like 350. But for what it is i would still just do my own for free at least till something nicer comes out.

Thanks tin, that is more than I had before.  I know it is more difficult to build one that still has the mounts for the hard cases but the pic you provided looks real good.  The price is high and I agree, better to make one yourself but unfortunately in my case I don't have that kind of skill.  Thanks for the post!

I don't own a gen 7 but friends do & from what I have seen the reason there isn't a big market for fender eliminators on them is the fender incorporates part of the hard luggage clips. I could be wrong but that's what it looks like to me so a fender eliminator would need to be a cut your existing fender & install affair.

From what it looks like on that eliminator is they buy a oem honda fender and cut it down and put a new bracket on the rear. I think that is why the price is so high.

I figure if you're gonna take your old one off and put it in the spare parts bin anyway, it might be worth your while to give it the old college try. I did mine before this one came out. They look almost exactly the same and it didnt cost me a penny. Didnt take a whole lot of skill. Just a cutting wheel and some sandpaper. I did it right on the bike so it was actually less effort than mounting a new one. I just reused the old metal license plate bracket. Just bent it and turned it upside down. A little paint and it was good to go.

Btw. was looking at that Thurn Motorsport website and they have a couple awesome looking LED  taillight assemblies for the 1200.

Your work looks really good.  Would it be asking you too much to take some closeups and email them to me?  I would like to see where you made your cuts and how you mounted the plate.  Or if you could post them on this forum it would inspire the non-mechanicals like me to take action, lol!  Thanks again!

I think i may be able to find the pics. took them as I went. at worst I can get some close ups when I get the chance. Its pretty tab A- slot B stuff just kinda scary once you start the first big cut.

I'll see what I can round up for info.
