Well, it was with a sad heart that I said "Goodbye" to my beloved 2002 VFR on Oct. 29th. The only consolation is that she was moving on to a new owner that happens to be a good friend of mine and I know she will be treated well. We had 47,800 miles of good times together.
If Honda ever gets their heads on straight and builds a lighter, simpler, sportier VFR, I wouldn't hesitate to get back on the VFR bandwagon...but until then, I'll ride something else.
VFRd has always been an excellent community of good folks...I can't just walk away from that so I'll probably pop in here from time to time just to see what's going on.
Well, at first I had a 2009 Buell 1125R. Loved it. Built a special rack to mount my VFR hard bags to and toured the smokies on the 1125R. I really enjoyed the great suspension and massive torque of the Buell. And then, I hit a dog on my way to work. Bye bye Buell, hello crutches. Honestly, the 1125R is a great sporty replacement for a VFR. It has great headlights, good air management, great suspension, and a fantastic motor full of character, torque and power. It did look a little funky though.
The Buell was replaced with an '07 Triumph Daytona 675. Great engine, lithe and nimble chassis, suspension way oversprung for my weight and a bit less comfortable than the Buell. It'll take me a while, but I'll get the Daytona sorted. We've got a trackday at Barber scheduled for the 26th of Nov.

Ran a 1125 at Barber and it put Both my hands to sleep in one session! Power and chassis were nice, but couldn't live with the vibs!
I cant see riding a 675 as a street bike, the ergos are horrible(about the worst), and theres really no adjustabilty to improve, not being able to atleast sit up to atleast stretch would be hell, especially after a short period of time.

You'll be back.............................. :tour:
So what are you lusting for now?
NOT on THAT bike, he won't be! LOL
I bought it a few weeks ago and am loving it. It is everything I ever heard the VFR was....fast, smooth, comfortable, and with great handling. After a few mods, so it fits ME better, I'm sure I will love it even more. Looking forward to a long time relationship.
Just bought a 675 myself. The ergos are aggressive, but not overly so. I'm thinking a 1" rise at the clip ons will do wonders. LSL and Helibars are even higher/more comfortable looking. Engine rocks, makes power just like a VFR.

Arent the clipons molded into the top clamp? I didnt see any height dimension to avoid hitting the windscreen or fairing even if raised. The R1 has room , ergo wise fairly comfy with that, but the fuel milege on those cross planes suck.

No, they're clamped to the forks just under the top triple.
Heres a pic of the LSL "tour match" clip ons. No trimming required [image: Posted Image]
