1.060 Final Reduction Gear on the VFR1200X?

Honda had the press release for the new VFR1200X and I have been looking on stuff that would be swappable onto my VFR1200F. One of the things I have really been hoping for was a better ring and pinion gear ratio to get a little more torque at the rear wheel.

Now I may be off on the final gear ratios on bikes but I would figure that they were calculated the same as on cars. Mine is currently 2.699, so I would assume that It would be 2.7 revolutions of the shaft to 1 revolution of the wheel. If that is the case and please correct me if I am off way off base here then how is 1200X final gear 1.06 on the manual transmission? Is this like something that adventure touring bikes do for some reason? The primary reductions are the same at 1.738 and the transmissions are similar in their 1st through 6th gear ratios.

I have checked several of the available sources on the specs of this bike and they all are the same at 1.06. I just dont understand what having this gear ratio would gain for you unless you were running top speed with a really long track.

It is simply a mistake; Honda forgets to add the final reduction 28/11 that is identical to VFR 1200 F (no reason to change a component like this).
They have a little bit reduced the ratio in the gear box, so the total ratio is lower and speed at 1000 rpm higher than VFR 1200.
But the Crosstourer has the maximum power at 7750 rpm, then quite far from the 10000 rpm of VFR.
It means that maximum speed in each gear is substantially lower than in the VFR.

Thanks for the reply. I thought it might be a mistake. I guess somewhere the information came out wrong then multiple sites ran with the mistake.
