Yoshimura blow out sale

Browsing for some cans for the custom exhaust I am going to do for my wife and found this on the Yoshimura web-site. Anyone else thinking what I am? :idea3: http://www.yoshimura...nless-steel-so/

Did your wife get a 6th gen (with dual underseat exhausts)? Or an earlier gen (with a single exhaust on the side)?

I know that the R1 had dual underseat exhausts at one point, or a single side-mounted exhaust at other points.

It might be worthwhile to check w/ Yoshimura, to confirm that the sale item matches what you have in mind...

It's a decent deal. There have been better, but if you want a Yoshi pipe...

Wondering if it comes with two pipes or one. Don't remember if the R1 has always been dual under or not.

I'm betting that's a single can for that price. Double the price for two cans and now it doesn't look like a bargain to me.

You can buy a Leo Vince can all day for much less than that.

That'd look real nice on my Tuono. Wonder about the pricing though. 300 per can. It need to state per pair for me to bite.

Well it sez 2008 r1, and they have two cans on a 2008 r1 so......

I called Yoshi just to make sure as I could not believe the price for the R1 kit. The lady I spoke to confirmed that it was a dual pipe set up. I have one on the way so I will let everyone know.

Waiting with anticipation. Should look better on the VTEC than round cans do.

Kinda what I thought. Looking at how the cans mount, they will sit at a slight angle to the bike almost matching the profile of the tail light.

Do you already have aftermarket exhaust? If so you should be able to reuse your existing y-pipe.

We bought my wifes bike with a Remus system on it. The Remus is going on mine :smile: :cheerleader: . My bike had a Two Brothers on it and it was way too loud. Sold it to another member. Picked up a used OE exhaust from another member that had been drilled out so we are going to use the factory midpipe and go from there. Buddy of mine is a welder for a large fabrication shop.

How hard would this be to make work? If I had to pay a welder to weld the exhaust all up, would that negate any of the savings?

Here is the system that came in the mail. 2 cans with Titanium sleeves and SS outlet caps. All hardware was included along with the silencer spuds. We have been playing around with the set up and it would work perfect but the cans will have to be shortened to look right. I am not sure I am comfortable with doing this though. Any ideas?
