mine is ak000389...I ride it hard and fill it up often...and refuse to see or notice anything other than perfection since I paid too much in April 2010..lol. :-)

Did you have a cracked panel issue? I have not yet (touch wood). I wonder if the issue can be traced to a particular plant/run by using the serial numbers?

Sounds like a great idea to me.... my rear panel was cracked, replaced by dealer with no issues....

You can't tell by the vin #, which bike was produced first. Rickmick, your VFR is the 57th to be imported to Brazil, most likely someone in Japan is the riding the first bike bought from a dealer. I have the same ending vin # as rubbersidedown AK000017, but I live in Korea.

Maybe you and rubbersidedown should exchange PM's to establish that the full vins are fully identical. I don't think that this is possible...
