Last night there was an article on A Current Affair for vehicle safety cameras. I've contacted the mob with a few questions regarding this model:

- Waterproof? Is there a waterproof case available?
- Confirmation of ease to remove from mount, for when parking or washing bike
I'd be considering mounting this behind the screen and above the gauges of my 1994. I haven't ridden the bike in rain very often, so I don't know how much water gets in the front vent.
These units are apparently booming overseas. The power of the software is apparently what makes a big difference. As you can see the unit has gyros and gps. The software links to Google Maps. Lots of nifty features in there.
The other option is a helmet mounted cam. Either way I want to mount a camera for two reasons: pleasure and protection.
