paint possibility
Album: Hard bag ideas
Uploaded 08 Feb 2012 - 23:47
I have ordered a set of silver bags off E-Bay. I need to paint them to match my bike. I like the way they look, just not sure of the blue on top. Maybe white on top and blue on the bottom? Let me know what you guys think. This is my first post here, hope I am posting in the correct location.
Post or send me a pick of your bike, at the same angle of the bags above & I'll photopaint them in so you can see.
Most RWB bikes I've seen with hardbags are all blue.
I havn't recieved the bags yet. I will have to decide what scheme to go with when they arrive. I hadn't seen any like this so I photo shopped an all blue set to play with the idea!

Why not photoshop A '07 and your PS'd bags so you can see which way to go with the colours? That's a great idea Monk! I don't think that far ahead. I will do that!
I have a white 06 and I got sidecases that were painted in the 06 black colour. I think this combination looks great (a white bike with white bags looks like a police bike - IMHO).
My advice is to select a single neutral colour for the bags - you don't have them on all the time, and if you choose to sell them one day it will be easier than if they are RWB. My 2cts. Good luck.
i would use blue below the crease on the bottom third, then replicate the white/red/white of the fairing on the remaining two thirds.....but do your planning correctly. You dont want it to end up looking like the squawking chicken: [image: Posted Image]
I would replicate the color arrangement of the lower fairing. That would move the blue to the bottom. (Says the guy with black bags on R157 red bike. I need to work out my own paint scheme!)
Veefer800cunuck Hope you don't mind, I borrowed your pic! I think I like the white on top, but here they are. Thanks Timmythecop, I wouldn't have thought of reversing the colors. Thank for the help!

I like the white top , with the lines matched to the bike, which would be less white and more blue, but the lines would flow.
:+1: ..............white on top will also stay cleaner than white on the bottom..........especially on the left side. Another
benefit is it'll reflect the midday sun better and your Sam Adams will stay cooler on your way home from the store.

Blue on the bottom, definetly.

And the Red line on the saddle bag should be made softer - a little bit bend to align with the red-line on the side fairing. And also remove the red-line on the rear seat cowl.

Awesome, looks much better with a little extra scheme matching rather than the factory all blue bags. Might even do it with decals like Honda apparently did with the fairings so when the white starts to fade you can just replace the vinyls.
