Charger type to properly condition new battery... - Tools Equipment

So I'm lazy and didn't do much of a search yet, but recently has anyone purchased a battery charger that is not the usual trickle/smart charger type, but the type that will properly charge and/or condition a new, uncharged or undercharged battery?  Does it matter really?  Disclaimer:  I'm an electrical midget.  Thanks guys...

Of course there are other tenders/chargers/etc............ This is my choice !
I use the "Battery Tender Plus"...... 'cause I use it on both my Jeep and VFR, mower , etc.

i mostly use a battery tender/maintainer. for new batteries or ones that ive used for years, it still keeps them going

I'm reading that as "I left the battery in the bike and now it's drained." It's going to be a toss-up whether you can bring it back or not.

As far as proper charging goes, Pb batteries are pretty robust. But if you really want to be careful, then find out what the aH rating on the battery is, and charge it at no more than 1/10 of that. So if the battery is 13aH, charge at no more than 1.3A at a constant voltage (12-15V).

I've brought one Pb battery back from the dead, but not so lucky with another one. Have a car charger and I set it at 2A (lowest setting). If I really wanted to get technical, I could use my RC charger, but haven't seen the need for it yet.

If the battery is pretty flat, charge it at low amps for a while to see if it even charges any. If it gets almost charged but still no good, then charge it at a higher amperage and check it every 20 minutes to see if it improves.
