Paint code for engine case?

Hi Folks;

New member on this board and now owner of a "new" 2010 VFR. I purchased a demo model from Honda Canada with only 1800km on the odometer. The bike is perfect other than a few small scuffs/scratches on the engine/alternator cover case (I assume its the alternator cover on the left side). It looks like the scratches might have been made by a foot peg rubbing or something similar during transport as its not linear scratching,

My question is, does anyone know the color code of the paint that would match the engine casing covers? Does Honda have this or is it simply match it up to a car paint? While its not a really big deal, and not very noticable, If I could at least touch up the scuff marks a bit to make it less obvious that would be great... I certainly don't think its worth the hassle to change the cover.

Great information in here, and I look forward to participating more in this forum as I get comfortable with my "new to me" ride...

Cheers;
Eric

I don't know the code off hand, but there is a product out there that is a very nice cover for it!
Check RG racing, I think they make it.

MSGTR: An interesting idea... I will check it out. Thanks!

If anyone knows what color it is to match the case color, I am still curious about that...

Painted parts often (not always, and I dunno about more modern Hondas) have the paint code listed in the part description in the official Parts Catalog for the bike. However, sometimes when there is no color variation they do not. But first check the microfiche; you might get lucky!

Racer944,

i am having the exact same problem with my 2013 VFR1200, can't find it either and Honda dealers so far have no clue.

Other idea: I have just been told that new iphone technology lets you scan the paint and then download it on a PC to to find the nearest best paint.

I am chasing it, will post when i find it.

Any updates?  I am interested in this also - I need to clean up some scratches on my clutch cover - courtesy of a metal foot peg on the wife's Yamaha TT.
