Question on VFR1200 DCT Brake System

I was trying to understand how the system work on "Linked" or "Combine braking system" what ever they call it on my DCT with ABS. Correct me if I understand incorrectly that this system I can apply brake on the handle bar which to the front brake and it will also apply brake to the rear without applying my right foot rear brake? Will the anti-lock brake still work if only apply one of them? The rear brake is really a pain trying to step with my right foot since I have to lift up my leg so my foot can get on top of it. Thanks for your help!

The front brake only applies the brakes to the 5 front caliper pistons, 2 left 3 right, not the rear. Here's the catch, the rear applies the brakes to the rear as assumed but also applies the brakes to the upper piston only on the left caliper. Yes anti-lock will still work if you use only your hand or foot.

Simple explanation:

Foot only: Damn where are the brakes
front only: Pretty good 70% of breaking
Both: Damn fine brakes you got there

I stop with the fronts only in 50% of the time. Just normal coast and stop. When you need to stop now it must be reflexive to use both so make sure it is instinctive.

Multiply by 2 the number of pistons. There are 6 pistons eack caliper.

Yea I should have said piston sets instead of pistons
