Before arriving at TMAC on the Wednesday, I will be riding the wider area a bit.
Sunday afternoon from Little Switserland, aiming to arrive Estill Springs Monday afternoon will allow me to nip into GA and AL, adding two states to my map.
Since I will be all alone, I am looking for a nice little WH in NE AL to stop by for a juicy bit or 2......
Heard that song for the 1st time when I was 11 and never forgot it. When a bit older I got to read up on US history and Stevie's lyrics Now 38 years later I have the opportunity to nip into AL so am going for it. I will keep my EU views inside my head, remembering the TOP GEAR boys riding through AL
Dutchy, you will find Alabama is nothing like what you saw on Top Gear. Now, Tennessee on the other hand.
Sorry, I don't know any places closer to the state line. The best BBQ in the world is to be had at the Ridgewood BBQ in Elizabethtown, TN (near Johnson City). If you get within 100 miles of it, worth the trip.
Cash's has three five stars and Jim's has twenty.
Jim's has only been there a few months.
I have eaten at BBq places all over these mountains... Jim's is the best followed up by Krambonz in Tellico Plains.
Rib Country and Fat Buddies are crap in comparison.
As an ex-pat Texan rating BBQ should be moved over to a 'what kind of oil or tires are the best' thread. Riders west of the big river know what I am talking about. Wish I had the funds to meet all of you. Cheers.
