Clocked @ 170 MPH

Clocked @ 170 after a prior check @ 166? Whoops!  - and how can they charge him with eluding if he wasn't aware of being pursued? I guess at that speed they can charge him with damned near anything that crosses their mind. One last thought - it says "biker" caught, that means it was a Harley right? :tongue:

Do they average the 166 and 170 , or take the fastest one clocked, but since he doesn't have a permit I guess he can't get points on it.

When your stopped for a moving violation in NJ without a license, the state assigns a new number to you(which later becomes your license #).  They'll put a suspension on it, so when you go get your license, your suspended immediately.

So points are no issue when your suspended.  Don't know how long your suspended for when you get your license.  It may be a year suspension, plus they throw on the points from the previous violations from when you didn't have a license.

It's the same in most all states. There is usually a reciprocation agreement between states in which if you get convicted of a crime involving your license and that state revokes/suspends the license, it will be invalid in other states too. Not all states have this agreement though.

He was finally busted in the town where the 2011 Catskills ride was head quartered.

In another story I read about this the alleged driver said this to the police, "I could have easily done 190."

I think terminal velocity is in the 160's... so there may never be a chance for a Hardly to go 170. Rocket engines maybe?

Yup.

We had a chuckle about this in the office yesterday. Guy went from the exit nearest where I work past my house and to the exit for last year's fall ride. He must have averaged a buck fifty since they say he went 50 miles in 20 minutes...

For the record, a well built performance Harley can put down more wheel horsepower than our bikes, in N/A form. Course they're usually 2 liters plus in displacement, but let me tell you, even a 140whp 80inch Sportster based motor is a BIG rush, they make megatorque in the midrange. And will flat out run away from any N/A VFR like its standing still.

For the record a Harley passed me after a mile long dice to the death... so thats the last time I take the Air Bike...

you mean like this one.. only costs $30,000 for the bike..  or 12,000 for a complete motor..
and yeah.. it will "walk away" from a vfr....for the 1st 1/4 mile.. then it sees tail lights from there on..
and if you spent just $10,000 on a vfr with a toro charger.. then the viffer will spank it from start

if you matched dollar for dollar .. i can only imagine a a viffer with ti everything in the motor .. and toro charger and carbon wheels, and swingarm and forks  etc etc ..weighing about 350 lbs. [image: Posted Image]
