So, I finally pulled the trigger on a 2007 VFR with 1200! after selling my 2009 kawi 650r. I love this bike so far, below 7k RPMs it handles like my 650r, but above 7k it handles sort of like a super sport.
I have a couple of gripes, but reading around they can easily be fixed (not smooth at 5k rpms)
This forum has been a lot of help in better learning about the bike.
Also, is the wiring harness a issue with 2007+ models also?
Welcome to VFRD from Warner Robins, GA. Yes the wire harness thing was an issue for all 6th gens. Definitely make a VFRness one of your first mods.
Edited, yeah Rollin Again is right. The wire harness recall was for 2005 and earlier. I was thinking the wire harness routing issue that kills R/R's and auses other electrical gremlins to pop up from time to time. The VFRess addresses that.
Welcome aboard from John's Creek! The wiring harness recall primarily affected 2002-2005 models and most of the electrical issues were sorted in 2006 so there really is no need to upgrade the wiring harness in my opinion. I work in Alpharetta so maybe you've seen my on one of my two VFR's. Hit me up sometime and we can go ride some twisties and grab lunch. I know a damn fine burger neer Helen.
