Need to replace my front fender on my 1200 with a carbon fibre or something similar due to a project I am working on. Anyway I am looking up the front fender oem part number and find that it is a 61100-MEL-xxxxx number instead of the normal VFR1200 code of MGE.
From my understanding, the middle code refers to the bike model that this part was originally designed for. A "MEL" code should be for a CBR1000rr 04-07 model. Checked the pics out and they look really really similar. I'm assuming the forks are not the same part model number since the CBR didn't have any ABS etc that I know of but as long as the mounting holes line up I would think it should work.
It would be nice to be able to use a 04-07 CBR front fender since there are more options available and they are way cheaper in price.
Any suggestion as to why this wouldn't work?
