I have to share because at times I was really down on this project as I saw it in a million pieces under my covered porch all Winter!   Bought a 98' VFR a few years ago.  A bit higher mileage, but well cared for.  It lived most of its days as a commuter in the bay area and had a few rusty nuts and bolts to say the least... and a sticky, rusty throttle valve assembly that was making it more and more difficult to have proper throttle control out of the corners!  Last Fall on a ride the rear shock blew out and leaked shock oil everywhere too.  I had a low, mileage CBR 929RR rear shock waiting to be installed.  Started to tear everything apart and of course got busy with other projects (building a shop to work on all the bikes and cars).  That took up most of my time this Winter which put this project on the burner.  Finally, I realized Spring was here and I was missing my bike!  So, the past two days I buckled down, installed the throttle bodies, air intake unit (That was the most complicated thing to 'figure' out where all the vaccum hoses went!  FYI mark your hoses!!!).  Also, I cleaned and dielectic greased every electrical connection I could find while I was in there.  Also soldered the R/R to the stator bypassing the male/female plug that was begining to melt!  Lastly, I installed the shock, cleaned everything really well and took it out for a nice ride this Summer like evening in the PNW!!  It felt like a brand new bike!!  The shock upgrade is unbelievably good!!  And I haven't even fine tuned it yet!  Man, I just love this VFR!   Since I know I am blogging to 5th generation folks hear I appreciate you reading my plight to resurrect this machine, and sharing the enthusiasm of how good this bike really is!  Cheers!

   I know!  Before I hit 'send' I thought I should have some pictures to post too.  She's missing her side fairings right now, but I'll throw a picture or two of her in the next few days.  It's still 'reeeaally nice though eh'!     One of my best buddies is a Canuck!!  Love the guy!  Good folks up there for sure.  And, sweet riding too!!  That 40% tax rate at least goes to maintaing decent roads!  Been over the Coquihalla Pass, Kelowna, Kamloops and down to Oriville and over the North Cascades Highway and home to Bellingham.  Pretty nice loop.  Thanks for 'welcome' too.  Cheers
