Re-key pannier lock set? Extra tumblers?

Hi guys;

I purchased a used set of OEM Honda panniers (side cases) but the owner did not have the extra leftover  tumblers for the lock cylinders since they were dealer installed and keyed to match his bike.

Does anyone know if the tumblers can be bought separately, or, alternatively, if they are standard parts that a locksmith might have? Although the cases came with a key that works, I really would like to re-key these locks to match my bike key....

My dealer has not been able to find any part numbers for these key cylinder tumblers, and accessory parts are VERY hard to get apparently...

Any help or advice appreciated... I really would like to re-key these locks to match my bike key if possible...

Cheers;
Eric

The OEM part number is 08L55-MGE-800Y1 (in Europe anyway)

VFRFlanders... thanks for that info. Unfortunately the North American dealers have no clue what that part number is and show no listings for Key cylinders or tumblers...

Same deal for me... Bought a set of saddlebags online from a Honda dealer... Got a great price and thought they were new, but once delivered to me l saw that they had already been used and keyed.  When l called the salesman and ripped into him, he told me that they had been installed on a showroom bike and that the buyer didnt want the bags... They were then taken off and put back in the boxes.  Unfortunately they had already been keyed and the left over tumblers were MIA. Luckily, there is a great locksmith in my area and l took the saddlebags to them along with an ignition key for my bike and they got it all set up for me in 1 day... Couldnt be more happy!

Jessman...

Ok, that's good news then as it means the tumblers are NOT Honda specific parts, and a good locksmith should therefore be able to help me out if all else fails.

I would love to be able to do it myself, but if not, at least there appears to be an option....

Thanks;

Racer, yeah l couldnt do squat on my own as the damn bags were locked with no key when they were shipped to me... But the locksmith got them straight for me, working beautifully with my ignition key for ~ 40 bucks.

The partnumbers for the accessories are one big mess.
For the panniers you should be able to buy all different parts seperatly, but nobody knows the partnumbers.
It seems the the panniers are made by GIVI in Italy, but we have no real proof of that.
The sports screen is made in Italy, because it says so (also GIVI?). The manual for the sports screen says to replace the plastic screen if worn, but you can find the partnumber for this.
I'm not going to buy the whole accessory, if only a part is broken, worn out or damaged. But Honda is no real help for their OEM accessories.
The dealers should help us out, but they only think $$$$$$.

I think tumblers are tumblers... any good locksmith would be able to get them going for you.
