VFR Discussion Group -> Helmet cam

Folks, this is my first real post here, I think I previously introduced myself but briefly, I have had my 2000 VFR for over 4 years, just did the 16k service, things are great with the bike. I live in NC, my driveway is 1 hour from Deal's Gap. Yes, I'm spoiled.

Anyway, does anyone have a suggestion for a suction cup device for a helmet cam? I thought of using a little platform that goes in my steering stem (usually has my V1 detector), but I'd rather have a camera that moves with my head.

I don't know if the suction devices are dependable enough or if this is a job for duct tape.

Any good ideas???

I took the cheap way out and bent up a piece of flat metal to make a camera mount for my Sony handycam. The mount fits between the fairing and the right mirror bolts. The camera sits just above the mirror stalk.

I found a good bit of info, which points to either helmetcam or jones cam.


I like the 380 extreme kit because of the $$, but I like the 480 extreme plus because of the quick disconnect 12 inches form the camera, but its pricey.

Also the Jonescam looks like it has a quick disconnect, its cheaper, and has a lanc remote. But they don't seem to have the 380. :huh:
