Dammit, Dammit, Dammit !!! It was 5am and I was getting ready to leave for a early morning mountain ride. I got geared up and was warming up my bike in the driveway. I turned around for just a second or two to grab my gloves and then I heard that loud, ugly, crashing sound we all hate to hear. I turned around to find my bike laying on it's side. Left mirror broken, clutch lever broken, and lots of deep ugly scratches on the fairings. I don't know what happened but assume that I didn't have the side stand extended all the way forward.
Anyone got an extra OEM left side mirror or clutch lever? I'm not asking for a free handout but just hoping someone has some extra 6th gen stuff that they can part with for cheap. Please let me know if you can help a brotha' out. I just had to shell out $2000 to have a large Oak tree removed from my yard and I just don't have any extra cash to buy brand new OEM parts.
Aaaaarrrgh! Sorry about this man! It is infuriating to drop it at a stand still! I know you said you have no money, but have you thought about some knock off pazzo look alike on Ebay? They're about $40 a pair shipped. As for the mirror, I have no suggestion. I hope someone can help. Good luck.

Sorry to hear a fellow Georgian and VFR rider had some bad luck this morning. This is the reason why I like and use my center stand most of the time. Just the other day I pulled into work and parked my bike, just as I was getting off my bike one co-worker pointed out that my side stand was not down all the way, could have lost the bike right there, I quickly pushed the side stand forward then put the bike on the center stand.
sorry to hear.....had this happen once before so I always give the side stand an extra 'kick' when I extend it, becomes habit .....a few scratches makes her look mean any way :)
Does anyone know if EMGO 6th Gen mirrors are the same length and look as the OEM mirrors?
The reason I am asking is because I put EMGO 5th Gen mirrors on my other bike and while I am happy with my purchase they are noticeably shorter than the OEM 5th Gen mirrors. I don't mind aftermarket mirrors but I'm hoping I can get by with purchasing just one and not have to buy a matching pair.
Had the same thing happen myself. I wish the sidestand allowed for a little more lean. Check your radiator and fan, mine was bent a little. The fan would have rubbed on the back of the radiator if I didn't check. I ended up putting a claim in with progressive and the guy was great. All new plastics for the left side and front, new levers and mirror. Since my helmet was sitting on the bike when it fell, they paid for a new one. Since I did all the "work" myself I even had some cash left for a Sargent seat. Can't say enough about the insurance company experience..
Major bummer. I bought some OEM style levers to carry as spares off ebay for about $18 delivered. I can't tell the difference between these and OEM.

I'v got a clutch lever for ya, yours for the cost of shipping, PM sent.
Well I sorta still have an Anniversary scheme. I've peeled off all the red stripes from both sides of the bike so the only red that is left is on the tank and rear cowl and it doesn't look too bad. Now I'm doing some serious thinking about an RC30 style paint scheme. Just like the one below.

With my last bike (BMW K1200S), I parked my bike to say hello to my friend. When I was walking towards him, he saw the bike twitch a bit and told me to go back. Sure enough, the bike moved a bit because the kickstand wasn't all the way extended and I caught it just in time. That has never happened to me before, and after that date, I always double check the kickstand when I lean the bike.

Hey i got mirror you can have ..............
Make sure were talking about the same side as your sitting on the bike its the left mirror because my other side, the right is damaged.
David,
Thanks for the offer!! I need the left mirror on the same side as my broken clutch lever. I already ordered an aftermarket mirror from EMGO but will have to wait to see if it is a close enough match so that I don't have to replace both mirrors. I'll let ya know in the next day or two after getting it and deciding whether to keep it or send it back. I'm itchin to get back on the road and my 3rd Gen suspension is shot so I have no issue riding the 6th Gen up with one mirror if I have to. I would of course be taking the long way up and hit the Dragon on the way. I'm about 90% sure I'll be up that way this weekend.
