Tail Section... What have you done to it?

I hate the tail section on the 2010 VFR1200. What have you guy's done to yours to make it look decent. Here's all I can figure out. I just removed the end piece and screwed the plate into the plastic.

Someone has got to have a better idea, on what to do. Has anyone cut theirs? If so can you post up some good pic's?

And so..............................   the mods begin!!!!!

Competition Werkes fender eliminator kit. Pricey for what it is, but it looks great without much hassle on the install.

Skip eating out a few times, and you've paid for it!

Personally I like the mod of TiN the most, although I need a license plate light by law. Also I would like to go back to the original if needed without any damage so I think the mod of crazybrother is the most logical solution and a first step. The Competition Werkes fender eliminator kit (tnx for the hint) is a good example for the same solution with the license plate light. I'm waiting for a complete fender kit. Replace the original for a 'TiN mod plus license plate light'

CompWerkes works.  Keeps stock functionality and still has a light.  Easy install.

The wiring is still there for the licence plate light. The bike doesnt get inspected for another 6 years so I would rather use the harness for the radar detector for now. If I have to get a light then I would go with a smaller aftermarket led style that should mount right where the reflector mounts. I had one police officer try to give me hell for it until it turned the bike to the on position and asked him if he couldn't see my plate or something.

Those are Michelin Pilot Road 3's.... I love em too!

I am toying with relocating the plate to the final drive cover. I will mount a bracket in the differential gear fluid weep hole. The problem I see with that location is it will hide the plate too much when the bags are on. We will see...

Then I'll hack the back fender off. It sticks too far out.

Plod: Your license plate isn't lighted!
Me: Yeah, I know, I cut it off.
Plod: Why?
Me: So I could use the power for a radar detector, duh.

Note: radardetectors are highly illegal here
